I would recommend using Top Dog Minders to all dog owners.
We had to put our dog in a kennel for a weekend earlier this year and he came home with cuts and dry blood on his paws and tail. I vowed never to use a kennel for my lovable pup ever again. I stumbled upon the Top Dog Minders website and have been so happy with the services. Our pup came home looking great and was a bit mellow after playing all weekend with Debbie and her family. I used Dog Minders for the first time during the May Day long weekend.  It was very clever to have Aki meet her Dog Minder family the weekend before, as she got used to their smell and their dog and was not a total stranger when we dropped her off the next week.  Aki was very happy to see us again at the end of the three days, but I can tell she had a great time as she looked happy and her Dog Minder family gave her a nice bath (one of her favourite things), so she was nice and clean.  I would highly recommend Dog Minder to anyone.

We were left with a last minute issue of having to find a place for our dog while we went on holiday. We looked at kennels and really didn't feel comfortable with leaving our dog at the premises. Our friend uses dog minders so we thought we would give this a try as we wanted our dog to feel comfortable while we were away and have the warmth of someones house and company. We read about Top Dog Minders on the internet and having read the reviews we thought this company looks promising. We phoned to see if we could find a minder 5 days prior to our holiday - we were aware this didn't allow much time and to our suprise within 1hr later they had confirmed a minder for us. Unfortunately that minder fell through due to an emergency and again TopDog Minders had another minder confirmed immediately. We met up with the Minder prior to the stay and they were very welcoming and happy to accommodate our dog with they way he lives at our house. We were extremely happy and comfortable with leaving him with them and they were more than happy if we text to check on things and make sure he was settling in. When we picked him up he looked so happy in their house and playing with their dog. Overall we would definately use TopDog Minders again and we certainly think our dog enjoyed his holiday also.

I was very happy with the way Juleen met Glbert with the same enthusiasm that he showed. I was not sure about leaving my dog with others but I have no problems any more. Gilbert is a high energy dog and took some settling, but again Juleen was always happy. The way your service conducted themselves both from Juleen and Kirstie ringing my parents to ask permission to get Gilbert looked over by a vet when off colour was a reassuring that you always had the dogs interest at all times. I think Gilbert has made a friend in Cam for life and all I can say is I hope Juleen would take Gilbert again in the future once he is desexed as I'm sure that will settle him down quite a bit. Once again fantastic patience Juleen and many thanks for a job well done!

Our Top Dog minders are always happy to see our Dog Poppy everytime. She is always excited to see them and happy when we pick her up.

We also feel comfortable with leaving her at there house as it is safe and she has plenty of space to run around. Leaving our dog in a Kennel for 2 weeks

just seems to much and she would get very lonely. But with Top Dog minders we know she has company 24 hours a day, like she does at home.

Eileen is an excellent minder and looked after our dog Nelson as if he were her own. He tends to be quite anxious when we are away but he was treated like royalty by Eileen & we know he was very comfortable and safe. Knowing this will make it much easier to go away on future holidays.

Hannah and Stephen were great. Really lovely people, and Neville was hilarious. My boys came back to me happy as can be :-) They were lucky boys! We haven't had a single issue! Next time I will be sure to book further in advance because Hannah and Stephen are completely lovely!  Hannah, Stephen and Neville provide a perfect environment for taking care of big dogs. I know my boys had a blast!

Eileen was lovely! Jaxin unfortunately had to wear a cone the
whole weekend so that he couldn't chew at a sore paw. I am positive that
Jaxin was a complete pain about it, but Eileen took it all in stride and
even reported back that it wasn't completely terrible! Eileen also went
above and beyond to make sure that the creams and pills from the vet were
administered and Jaxin came back to me a healthier dog for it! She was
really amazing in a less than desirable situation!! I also really
appreciated the follow up conversation I had with her after picking up the
dogs so that she could give me an update on how the weekend went. As I
mentioned, I really feel she went above and beyond!

After making last minute travel plans overseas I was a little worried that I would have a tough time finding somewhere for my two big dogs, but TopDog Minders came to the rescue! The staff made sure that our dog minder was happy to have a puppy, which as we know can be a fair amount of work also as we were heading up the North Coast our minder was on the north side of Brisbane which made it really convenient for dropping off and picking up.

I was very happy with our minder and the whole experience.  I was very wary having tried another place like it and not being able to find out who the minder was or meet them until only several days before our holidays which I found not satisfactory. When I did meet them they were not what I had asked for at all and I ended up booking up our dogs into a kennel at the last minute.  With you I was given a name and address and some details within 48 hours so there was plenty of opportunity to meet and greet the minder, inspect the premises, give my list of what I wished to happen while I was away, find out about them and their relationship to dogs etc.  While away I rang the minders every day or two for the first few days and was reassured my dogs were safe, well and happy and being well cared for.  I rang one night and found one of my dogs was sitting in a lap which gave me great joy to know they were inside a house and being cuddled. They had their own beds and food so there were no tummy upsets when they came home.

I left my weimaraner (Si Si) with Hannah and her partner, and they were absolutely fantastic. They were very flexible and accommodating, and when we got back from our holiday Hannah had made a wonderful CD of the fun that Si Si had had at the beach and parks whilst we were away. I will definately leave Si Si in the capable hands of Hannah when I go away again.

Now that we've used TopDog, we can't see why we'd ever put our dog in a kennel again. For a similar daily price he got to be looked after in a caring home with a safe and secure garden, rather than spending his days alone in a cage.

Yes we were very happy with Pam and Les. They are wonderful carers and treated Max just like he was at home and was spoiled whilst we were away.


Pam and Les had another day there for the duration of Max’s stay but they were great to see that Max settled and that there wasn’t going to be a problem between the two dogs. They ended up playing really well together. This was great because the only time that Max has been with other dogs is when he has been minded by Pam and Les.

Pam and Les went over and above what I expected. I had cooked chicken for Max and prepacked it for him but if Pam was having dinner and there was any left over then Max scored a bit extra.

You are extremely efficient and organised. I only gave you a couple of weeks notice to find a minder for our puppy over the Easter break (which I presume is not an easy task) and I was worried that we would get someone that you do not used very much and maybe not one of your better minders! Jenny and her husband Russell treated our puppy so well and even put up with the annoying habits of a puppy. We were so happy with Jenny and Russell and would highly recommend them to anyone.

of my dog. We weren't worried at all on our trip and he was quite sad to

leave her when we got home.

I was REALLY HAPPY with our minder Sheriden and the TopDog staff. Sheriden and her family took great care of Billy and it gave me peace of mind to be able to text Sheriden to see how he was going.

Unfortunately it was our dog Billy who was the issue. He kept weeing inside on the floor. He doesn't do this at home and we think it could be because he was anxious (he will wee if he is overexcited or scared) - which had nothing to do with Sheriden but because Billy was out of his comfort zone and routine (plus he is still a puppy). I felt really bad about this, as it is never fun having to clean up after a dog - especially if it doesn't belong to you. It didn't make it a good experience for Sheriden (although she was exceptionally nice and kind about it) .

I would love to use TopDogs again because the service and care that Billy got was so fantastic. He loved having another dog (Prince) to play with and keep him company. The only problem was our dog!!! :)  I think the service is fantastic. It is great being able to meet the carer and to arrange a time that is suitable to drop off and pick up your dog that is more flexible than a kennel. Likewise I loved that our dog was in a family environment just like at home which we had hoped would make it easier on our dog while we were away.

Thank you so much for letting us use TopDogs - although we might now be on the doggie black list after all Billy's weeing!
